Blyth Town on run of good form
A spell of improved form has hoisted Blyth Town into the top half of the Pin Point Recruitment Northern Alliance Premier Division table.
They carried on with the good work with a 2-1 win at home to Shankhouse.
In a hard-fought contest, Chris Lisle opened the scoring for Blyth after almost 50 minutes of stalemate when his chance was set up by Danny Beresford.
The Town's lead was doubled by Tom Haigh midway through the second half when he raced on to Craig Hopwood's cross to fire into the bottom corner.
Although Kevin Gustard replied in 80 minutes for Shankhouse, time ran out for the visitors.
