Two charged over bogus charity collection in Blyth

A man and a woman have been charged in connection with bogus charity collecting in Blyth.

Hayley McGowan, 33, and Barry Brown, 19, of Hallside Road, Cowpen, are both charged with three offences of fraud by false representation and five offences of attempted fraud by false representation.

Blyth Neighbourhood Inspector Bill Fawcett said: "We always urge residents to be vigilant and check the identity of anyone calling at their home who is unexpected."
