Blyth scouts in sponsored trek
Scouts from Northumberland yesterday put their walking boots on to hike for their heritage.
Blyth Valley Scouts undertook a six-mile sponsored trek from Blyth to Seaton Delaval to help raise cash for Seaton Delaval Hall, Northumberland.
The youngsters also crafted their own banners to try to spark interest in saving the historic stately home.
The event throws weight behind a National Trust bid to raise £13m and save the hall from being sold to a private owner.
Its current owner, Lord Hastings, is selling Seaton Delaval Hall, along with its gardens, grounds and a large area of the surrounding countryside.
If the money is not raised, the hall could still be turned into a hotel, a golf club, or another commercial development.
